Project 365 - January 12, 2009

It seems like the "cell phone du jour" last year was the Apple IPhone and we love it! It has tons and tons of storage, takes decent pictures (the picture of Scamp in the earlier post was taken with it), and the network truly is fast.

Like I really need any new obsessions! But I've got one...I'm in love with Vera Bradley stuff. I don't think I'll go so far as buying any of the luggage (that stuff's expensive!), but I'll definitely be collecting small pieces here and there. Maddie even likes the "Peacock" pattern and uses the sling bag for her lunch bag.

Project 365 - January 10, 2009

A new thing this last year for Maddie was the guitar. She started lessons last summer and is in the Rock Band elective at school. Her band's name is "Magical Lightbulb Emporium", MLE for short and they had the unprecedented opportunity last fall to play a show at the historic Cain's Ballroom here in town. They also play two shows at school each year, a Cafe Night in December and Street Party in May.

This is our "Sooner Shrine". The football and the picture have been signed by what were, until this year, the three living Sooner Heisman Trophy winners. Now I'm going to have to get Sam Bradford too! From August to January, this is a pretty big part of our lives. Boomer Sooner!

Project 365 - January 8, 2009 (A Late Start)

Getting a late start on the project 365! Better late than never, it'll just bleed into next year :-).

This is when you know the dog is at his most content!

Scamp came to us in the summer of 2006. Phil and I were out on our then daily (we need to get back to that) walk and this cute little mini schnauzer mix started following us around. We tried to shake him a couple of times by getting him to follow other walkers, but he just wouldn't budge. So we brought him home, called the number on his tags and got no answer. This went on for a couple of weeks, so we took him to the vet to check for a microchip. No microchip, no answer at the phone number on his tags. It must have been fate.
He's so cute, guess we'll keep him.
